Woke up this morning pondering the most meaningful sacrifice ever given. “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” John 1:29
As I was praying this morning and letting the weight of that sink in, all I could say is “Thank You, God. Thank you, Jesus” and it didn’t seem like enough. “Thank you” just doesn’t seem like an adequate response to what Jesus did for us on the cross. Not only is it the most meaningful sacrifice ever given, it’s the eternal game changer for all of humanity who believe it’s true. Isn’t that AMAZING!!??
We have the opportunity to respond to this sacrifice every day by how we live our lives. Do we display gratitude or are we ungrateful? Do we walk in love or judgment? Mercy or condemnation? Compassion or apathy? Do we try to live a life of service or convenience? Do we speak life or death?
In our self-serving, super-speedy drive thru world, it’s not easy for our lives to display a “Thank you.” We HAVE to go out of our way, but in light of the cross, let’s challenge one another to live out our “Thank you” every day until He calls us home.
